Dwayne Kent Edwards is entering his 6th year as Athletic Director for Crestwood High School and his 33rd year working for the Sumter School District. Dwayne’s athletic experiences include Head Boys Basketball Coach of Crestwood High School from 1996 to 2017; Assistant Baseball Coach at Crestwood High School in 2011, Head Boys Basketball Coach at Hillcrest High School in Dalzell, SC for the 1995-1996 season; and Assistant Football and Baseball Coach for Hillcrest High School from 1989-1995. Dwayne believes that the mission of any athletic program should be to develop not only great athletes but also academically successful, and generally well-rounded, students. He encourages all of his athletes to apply determination and hard work to their lives, both on the court and off. Dwayne obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education from Morris College in 1982. In 2008, he earned a Master of Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy in Mobile, Alabama. He is a member of the National Educational Association, South Carolina Athletic Coaches Association and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. He is married to Lucinda H. Edwards and they are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters, Porcha L. Edwards and Dana D. Edwards.
